Alberta is Calling:

Moving Bonus' offers a one-time, refundable tax credit of $5,000 for up to 2,000 eligible skilled tradespeople who move to Alberta, work in qualifying occupations, and meet all other criteria.

Applications open on May 1, 2025, and will be processed on a first-come, first-served basis. Approved applications will be handled in the order they are received.

Best of all, there are no taxes on the bonus funds you receive through this program.

Eligibility

To qualify for the Moving Bonus, you must:

• be 18 years or older at time of application
• be a Canadian citizen or permanent resident
• have moved to Alberta between May 1, 2024 to December 31, 2024
• be a resident of Alberta for at least 12 consecutive months at the time of application
• be a tax resident of Alberta on December 31, 2024
  • You must have received your 2024 Notice of Assessment from the Canada Revenue Agency (CRA).
• be employed or self-employed and working in an eligible occupation
• meet the requirements below for employed and self-employed applicants
