PEI Provincial Nominee Program

PEI PNP program has a various Streams.

  • Critical Workers
  • Intermediate Experience Stream

Critical Workers Stream

If you’re employed full-time in PEI, you can apply for permanent residency through the PEI PNP’s Critical Worker stream. To qualify, you need:

Requirements

  1. Full-time, non-seasonal job offer from a PEI employer in an intermediate skilled position (TEER category 4 or 5).
  2. Minimum of six months full-time, continuous work experience with the PEI employer.
  3. Valid work permit and legal status in Canada.
  4. Possess a minimum education of secondary school diploma.
  5. Age between 18 and 59.
  6. Minimum two years of full-time work experience or relevant education in the past five years.
  7. Language test minimum score of CLB/NCLC 4.
  8. Sufficient financial resources to cover all immigration costs (including travel expenses) for you and your family to establish in PEI.
  9. Demonstrate a genuine intention to settle in PEI.

‍Trucking Sector:  Effective August 19, 2021, any applicants currently nominated or applying under any Provincial Immigration program under NOC 73300 will be required to have at least 12 months of long haul truck driving experience and their job offer must be with an eligible PEI employer.

Intermediate Experience Stream

The Intermediate Experience Stream enables employers to recruit talent outside of Canada.

Requirements

  1. Full-time job offer (i.e. permanent or minimum of two years) from a PEI employer in an intermediate-skilled position (TEER category 4)
  2. Minimum 6 months of full-time Canadian work experience with a Labour Market Impact Assessment (LMIA) based work permit.
  3. Completion of at least a secondary school diploma (high school).
  4. Age between 18 and 59.
  5. Legal status in the country of residence.
  6. Minimum two years of full-time work experience or relevant education in the past five years.
  7. Valid language test result (CLB/NCLC 4).
  8. Sufficient financial resources to cover immigration costs, including travel expenses for the applicant and their family to establish in PEI.
  9. Genuine intention to settle in PEI.

International Graduates Stream

Graduates from a publicly-funded PEI post-secondary institution are eligible to get PR through this program.

Requirements

  1. Graduated from a publicly-funded Prince Edward Island institution
  2. Have a full-time, non-seasonal job offer from a PEI employer for at least two years (or permanent).
  3. Hold a valid post-graduate work permit and legal status in Canada.
  4. Must be available for an interview with the Office, if necessary.
  5. If in a high-skilled occupation (TEER category 0, 1, 2, or 3), demonstrate sufficient English and/or French proficiency using the PEIW-02: Workforce Job Offer Form.
  6. If in an intermediate-skilled position (TEER category 4 or 5), provide a valid language test result with a minimum score of CLB/NCLC 4.
  7. Age must be between 18 and 59.
  8. Have enough financial resources to cover immigration and travel expenses for you and your family.
  9. Show a genuine intention to settle in PEI.

Occupations in Demand Stream

The Occupations in Demand stream may be utilized for talent recruitment outside of Canada, if the Prince Edward Island Employer has received authorization from the Office of Immigration prior to issuing a job offer. With approval, a Work Permit Support Letter would be provided for the applicant to seek a Work Permit.

Requirements

  1. Have a full-time, non-seasonal permanent job offer from a PEI employer in one of the specified occupations.

    NOC 33102 (Nurse aides, orderlies and patient service associates);
    NOC 73300 (Transport truck drivers);
    NOC 75110 (Construction trades helpers and labourers);
    NOC 65310 (Light duty cleaners);
    NOC 95109 (Other labourers in processing, manufacturing and utilities);
    NOC 75101 (Material handlers);
    NOC 94140 (Process control and machine operators food and beverage processing); or
    NOC 94141 (Industrial butchers and meat cutters, poultry preparers and related workers),
  2. Possess one year of full-time, directly related work experience to the job offered by a PEI employer.
  3. Age between 18 and 59.
  4. Hold at least a secondary school diploma.
  5. Provide a valid language test result with a minimum score of CLB/NCLC 4.
  6. Have enough financial resources to cover immigration and travel costs for you and your family.
  7. Show a genuine intention to settle in PEI.

PEI Express Entry

You may seek a PEI Express Entry nomination for Permanent Residency via the Prince Edward Island Provincial Nominee Program (PEI PNP),enhancing your prospects for receiving an Invitation to Apply from the Federal Government.

  1. Meet the requirements of one of the Federal Economic Immigration programs (Federal Skilled Worker Program, Federal Skilled Trades Program, or Canadian Experience Class).
  2. Create a Federal Express Entry Profile and enter the candidate pool via IRCC's website.

Prince Edward Island gives priority to Express Entry applicants already working and living in the province with an eligible PEI employer.

Note: If you have a PGWP and graduated from an institution outside of PEI or a spousal open work permit based on a spouse's study permit from an institution outside of PEI, you need 9 months of continuous full-time work experience with your supporting PEI employer and at least 4 months remaining on your work permit when submitting your Expression of Interest.

Skilled Worker Stream

If you're employed by a PEI employer, you're eligible to apply for Permanent Residency nomination through the Skilled Worker Stream of PEIPNP. This stream is designed to help Island employers fill high-skilled positions they can't find locally.

  1. Full-time, non-seasonal job offer from a PEI employer in a high-skilled TEER category 0, 1, 2, or 3 occupation.
  2. Minimum two years of full-time work experience in the past five years.
  3. Valid work permit to work in Canada.
  4. Legal status in your country of residence.
  5. Completed a post-secondary degree or diploma (minimum two-year program).
  6. Age between 18 and 59.
  7. English and/or French proficiency verified by a language test (CLB/NCLC 4) within the past two years.
  8. Sufficient financial resources for immigration costs and for settling in PEI.
  9. Genuine intention to settle in PEI.

 

Skilled Worker Outside Canada

Employers from Prince Edward Island (PEI) can recruit talent from outside Canada through this stream.

  1. Full-time, non-seasonal job offer from a PEI employer in TEER categories 0,1,2, or 3.
  2. Minimum two years of full-time work experience in the past five years.
  3. Legal status in your country of residence.
  4. Completed post-secondary degree or diploma (minimum two-year program).
  5. Age between 18 and 59.
  6. English and/or French proficiency verified by a language test (CLB/NCLC 4) within the past two years or a PEIW-02: Workforce Job Offer Form indicating employer is comfortable with the employee’s proficiency in English and/or French.
  7. Sufficient financial resources for immigration costs and settlement in PEI.
  8. Genuine intention to settle in PEI.
