Starting September 26, 2024, the following changes will impact certain **LMIA **applications for the low-wage stream:

Processing Restrictions: LMIA applications for low-wage positions in census metropolitan areas with an unemployment rate of 6% or higher will no longer be processed.
Reduced Cap: Employers will be allowed to hire no more than 10% of their total workforce through the TFW Program. This maximum employment percentage will be applied to the Low-Wage stream.
Shortened Employment Duration: The maximum employment duration for low-wage positions is being reduced from 2 years to 1 year.
