- Eligibility for Letter of Support:
- Who: Applicants awaiting a decision as of August 26, 2024, with a valid work permit expiring between May 7 and December 31, 2024.
- Declined Applications: Those whose applications were declined between May 7 and August 26, 2024, solely due to work permit expiry in 2024.
- Assessment Process:
- Initial Assessment: The AAIP will evaluate eligibility. Applicants must meet minimum stream requirements and have a valid Alberta job offer.
- Status Maintenance: Expired permit holders must prove maintained status or eligibility for restoration of temporary resident status.
- Application Procedure:
- No Direct Applications: You cannot apply directly. The AAIP will contact eligible candidates based on permit expiry dates.
- Work Permit Extension:
- Duration: Eligible applicants will receive an open work permit valid for up to 2 years.
- Impact: This extension will help maintain your nomination eligibility and allow continued employment.
- Prioritization and Timeline:
